A Profound treatment takes a little over an hour. Some pain is involved but we will try to minimize it as much as possible with local anesthetics. We typically do an area the size of an 8 x 11 sheet of paper in a visit. Some larger treatment areas such as the thighs might require more than one visit to complete.

The Revolutionary One-Time Profound Treatment stimulates the deep layers of skin to replenish these 3 ingredients naturally resulting in a profoundly younger looking appearance that lasts for years.

ALL YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
What should I expect after the treatment? How much downtime?
After the treatment, you should expect some swelling and tenderness and, possibly, some bruising. Plan to take it easy the rest of the day. Within 24 hours, you should be able to resume normal activities. Expect to experience swelling and bruising for about 3-5 days while your skin and underlying tissue is healing. You may also experience a little bumpiness for a few days. This is a natural reaction to the microneedle insertion points and will subside over the following few days. You may need to cover some redness with makeup for a few days. Over time, your body will heal itself producing more collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. We recommend taking extra care of yourself with plenty of rest, extra water intake and eating healthy foods to speed up recovery time. You will continue to see improvements and positive results for many months after the procedure.
When will I see results?
Most people see initial results within 6-8 weeks. As your body begins producing more collagen and elastin, you will continue to see more results within 4-6 months. Some patients report continued improvement after a year or more. There are a number of factors that can determine how long results will take to be noticeable such as health, age, genetics and how you care for your skin.
How long will the results last?
Profound is very different from injections of filler or Botox. With just one Profound treatment, the results can last for years. Profound promotes the natural production of new elastin and collagen and other components of healthy youthful skin over time. Because new elastin and collagen require time to fully develop, optimal results will take at least 3-6 months post treatment. Results are dependent on the amount of collagen and elastin already present in your skin. The Profound treatment takes existing collagen and elastin in the skin and enhances it up to 5 times. Results can vary depending on your health, age, genetics and how well you care for your skin before and after the procedure.
Do I need to discontinue medications before treatment?
We recommend you discontinue the following medications 7 days prior to treatment to reduce bruising: aspirin, ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil, Aleve), St. John’s Wort, Omega 3 fatty acids (Fish Oil), Vitamin E, Ginger, Ginkgo Biloba – Ginseng. We will discuss concerns with other over-the-counter medications and prescriptions during your initial consultation.
I just had filler, can I still get the Profound Treatment?
Because filler is an injection of primarily hyaluronic acid we recommend waiting for the filler to wear off before getting the Profound treatment. Our doctor will be able to address your specific timeframe during your initial consultation.
What is Elastin and why is it important to have it?
Elastin is a protein that lends elasticity and resilience to tissues throughout the body. It is particularly important for our skin, heart, lungs and other tissues to have elastin so they can expand and contract as we move, breathe and stretch. Elastin in the skin works together with collagen to provide structure and elasticity which keeps our skin smooth and firm. Over time and as we age our body naturally produces less and less elastin.
What does the Profound treatment cost?
Since the Profound treatment is significantly less invasive than a facelift, so is the cost. And since every patient is different in the areas that need to be treated costs can vary from patient to patient. We invite you to schedule a free no-pressure consultation to see if a Profound treatment is right for you.
Is the Profound device FDA cleared?
Yes! The Profound is FDA cleared to treat loose skin and cellulite.
